Why I joined EmGen
To be surrounded by a community with similar interests. The network is such a great space to bounce ideas off people from a range of different backgrounds that share similar passions.
Interests
I am particularly interested in the overlap between farming and conservation, and how different farming techniques can improve the environment, hence why I think regen ag is so exciting! I am also particularly interested in the how to fund the transition to more sustainable practices, hence my master's thesis looking at how you can increase cashflows on a farm.
Knowledge signposts
Great books I have read recently with a total mix of viewpoints and opinions:
📚Ravenous by Henry Dimbleby
📘Rooted by Sarah Langford
📚Regenesis by George Monbiot.
Educational/training highlights
I grew up and spent summers working on an organic and biodynamic vineyard in France, which is what got me interested in nature-friendly practices. Before my master's, I worked as a field ecologist, which gave me a great insight into protected species and issues around conservation. So I have the agriculture side and the ecology side, which makes agroecology the passion!
How I can support other members
I help put together the jobs board for the EmGen newsletter, hopefully this will help members discover a range of different opportunities.
My next steps
To get a job! Looking for something that combines my interests in regen ag, nature and finance.
