Our Story

We launched at FarmED, the Centre for Farming and Food Education in the Cotswolds, in 2022. We started by asking a group of young people from across the food system what they needed and what would help them. Supported by WWF, we held a three-day event for 90 participants exploring the barriers and opportunities young people face, potential solutions and the need for a new young persons’ network.

It was clear following this event that we couldn't stop there!​ Since then, we have delivered regular farm walks, workshops, conference panel sessions and online events benefiting over 2000 participants. Topics covered range from soil health, regenerative grazing and net zero food systems, to podcast recording, advocacy and routes to market. Within our monthly newsletter we have shared countless jobs and business opportunities suitable for young people in farming and food.

Our bursary programme, which helps to cover event, travel and other costs, has so far supported a host of young people helping them to access events that were previously out of reach.

We became a fully fledged and independent Community Interest Company in 2024 with help from a Farming in Protected Landscapes grant.  With support from Esmée Fairbairn and CHK Foundation's respectively  we have established a small team of 1 FTE and expanded our board to 4 Directors that are supported by a steering group of 10 young members. Thanks to Rothschild Foundation, NFU Mutual and Ernest Cook Trust  we have been able to grow our programme of events and extend our reach.
