We know that podcasts are a great way to share stories, ideas and knowledge. That is why we've been busy collaborating with established platforms such as Meet The Farmers, to co-create episodes that bring young voices in food and farming into wider conversations. Last year we ran we also ran hands-on training to help members build confidence in storytelling, interviewing and production - watch this space as we hope to do it again!

Alongside this, At the heart of this work is a simple belief: young people should be heard. Podcasting offers an accessible, engaging way to share knowledge and experiences, helping amplify underrepresented voices and build a more inclusive and connected food system.

In collaboration with RuralPod Media and the Meet the Farmers podcast, this episode brings together voices from the Emergent Generation network to explore how young people are finding their way into food and farming. It reflects on the barriers they face, what draws them in, and the kind of future they want to help shape.

In this second episode, produced with RuralPod Media and the Meet the Farmers podcast, the focus shifts from ideas to action. It follows young people already putting their values into practice on the ground, sharing how they are creating change within the food and farming system and why telling these stories matters.

We think Emergent Generation members will love the It’s in Our Roots podcast. Hosted by best mates Holly and Dan, the weekly show shares conversations with inspiring people from across the Great British countryside, from rural creators to those behind well-loved countryside events. While it is not a traditional farming podcast, their Young Farmers roots shape the stories and discussions, with a focus on personal experiences and celebrating the people and communities that make rural life such an exciting place to be.
