Em Gen journeys to Europe!

Clare Langrish

Emergent Generation was contacted by IFOAM Organics Europe (the European umbrella organisation for organic food and farming), inviting us to join a new Organic Youth Network alongside other like-minded agroecological and sustainable youth organisations.

Acting as the voice of the young organic movement, the network is a bottom-up and independent initiative, coordinated by IFOAM Organics Europe.

The Organic Youth Network brings together organisations that represent organic youth as well as those working on topics that relate to both young organic farmers and operators.

The Youth Network was officially inaugurated at BIOFACH (The World´s Leading Trade Fair for Organic Food) in Nuremberg, Germany. Here, the group also declared its commitment to contributing to the empowerment of the voices and needs of young organic farmers and operators, calling for greater representation of youth perspectives in agriculture through a youth proclamation.

Our involvement is a great opportunity to both build bridges and streamline our work. Em Gen'r Clare Langrish represents us in the group and is keen to connect our perspectives about generational renewal and youth priorities with the European organic sector. If you have any questions about this work or have any particular youth-related topics you’d like the network group to consider, please do reach out to Clare (clare.langrish@gmail.com).
